AMY’S PHILOSOPHY:

As a former high strung, tight, workout-addicted, anxious, & unhappy lawyer, I began my journey into yoga to figure out why I could breathe better when I was on my mat, and why I felt short of breath pretty much every other minute of the day. I knew it' wasn’t just about the shapes.

At its core, all yoga is therapeutic: “relating to the healing of disease.”

Maybe your dis-ease is manifesting in trouble breathing (like mine); maybe you just feel ill-at-ease, a anxious, or unable to relax; perhaps you have an injury, or maybe you’re newly pregnant (or trying to become pregnant) and you’re working on wrapping your mind and body around the change, or the lack thereof.

Whatever the case may be, there’s a branch or a form of yoga that is just the thing.

A couple years ago, I threw out my back and was rendered pretty much immobile for nearly a month. Suddenly my livelihood and the movement I had depended on to keep my sanity was no longer accessible. Terrified, I listened to everyone around me who said I shouldn’t do yoga.

How wrong I was.

What I needed was to dive in to my body and my fear, and to re-learn how to practice and move in a way that actually healed my back, rather than reinforcing the problematic patterns in my body. It took patience and time and the knowledge I had spent a decade acquiring, but it was transformative.

Whether you have a back injury or some other type of injury, let me show you how to re-pattern your movements so that you may heal from inside to out. There’s not pre-set program here: we make one together.

First step: a Discovery Call so you provide context as you interview me so we can decide whether we’re a good fit.

ANXIETY MANAGEMENT

Anxiety management programs often focus on our mind: thoughts, feelings. But, our bodies are also anxious.

With nearly a decade of teaching & learning experience, I have pioneered a holistic program that tackles all aspects of stress & anxiety: body, emotions, breath, nervous system, and mind. Similar to learning math, make time to learn the why’s and the how’s that will free you to feel at ease in your body and mind.

Using movement, mindfulness, breathing techniques, and a scientific lens as a way to reframe stress and anxiety, I will tailor my 6 session course—developed through years of training and experience— to empower you to feel better, work better, and live better.

WHAT SESSIONS ARE LIKE:

  • Complimentary Discovery Call: your chance to interview me, and for me to learn about you

  • 45 minute sessions via Zoom

  • 6 sessions total (once or twice per week)

  • Each session will have a particular focus, so no two sessions will be the same in style or content

I’m a Prenatal certified teacher with nearly a decade of full-time teaching experience and thousands of hours of training.

I went to law school to help make this less of a man’s world. Years later, when I began my prenatal yoga training, I finally felt like I found the most profound way to do just that: support, normalize, & empower women (and those who identify as such) in the sphere that is uniquely ours.

Whether you’re newly pregnant, heading into your second or third trimester, or struggling to get pregnant, let me support you in cultivating fertility, navigating the newness in your body (or the lack thereof) and the expanse of doctors, hospitals, doulas.

There’s no preset program, I will create a plan tailored to your needs and circumstances.

Having a one on one with Amy is to bring personal transformation and wellness to an entirely different level. We focus on yoga but it's not at all about performing ever more tricky poses. It's about being in the pose, it's about identifying limitations and how to overcome them whether the blockages are physical, mental, or more subtle.
